I’m new to running my own business. I am not new to the horse industry. If there is a place in my life, I know how to navigate best…it is horses. If you want to pursue a career in horses, you should know it is an amazing path and an absolutely demanding one. Eyes up, heels down…buckle up. When I first started Iron Ardour Equestrian, it was not intentional (at first.) It was a lot of hiding, asking people to please not call me a trainer, avoiding labels at all cost, and A TON of support. We all just want to ride horses, right? I still find myself cringing at the title even though I couldn’t picture myself being more dedicated to anything else in the world. I wish someone was in the thick of it with me. I wish someone could give me an instruction manual. My next (and first) blog series is going to take on the challenges of young professionals. I’m surrounded by them, I see so many wanting to be one of them, I am one of them. We will tackle topics like: What is your Why? What are your strengths? What do your boundaries look like? Lady Luck, Grit, and Grace. The symptoms and solutions to Burnout. Mentors and Pride ….and money. This blog series isn’t a How-To, it isn’t Bible, you might find it all to be garbage. It’s just an account of life as I know it, how I’ve navigated so far, and what I wish I had known going in. Maybe in ten years I’ll look back at this recollection and laugh, but at least I was here for it. I invite you to do the same. I’d love to hear from others. Let’s get creative together and most of all cheer this passion on. Look for some new ink every third Wednesday of the month. XO Iron Ardour Equestrian
